Whether you are a media novice or well-versed in media relations, getting the message right with the media can be a real challenge – getting it wrong could wreck your reputation.
This workshop combines theory with practical media interviews. You will learn techniques to develop your skills easily and quickly. We tailor a range of interview scenarios specifically for you. You will learn how to identify your key messages and promote the good news within your organisation.
You will learn techniques to help you handle a crisis or serious issue. We show you how to keep the media under control and prevent a challenging situation from becoming a media circus.
You’ll participate in realistic media interviews with tailored scenarios and playback analysis to prepare you for real-life print, radio, and television interviews. We alert you to the media pitfalls, show you how to stay on message, and avoid those tricky journalistic traps that can easily snare even seasoned media performers.
What to expect
This full-day course is practical, interactive, and engaging.
You will participate in at least three realistic media interviews. We cover print, radio, and television interviews. Each interview is recorded and played back for analysis. The training will be tailored to each participant, with individual interview scenarios devised for each person. We can take a maximum of six participants per course. We send out pre-course questionnaires to help us tailor the training so that you get what you need from the day.
