Now that your Local Election's out of the way, the hard work will really begin in earnest. With several new members starting you'll want to support their enthusiasm with training programmes designed specifically to meet their individual needs There's a lot to learn – yet at the same time New Members will also have to rise to the challenges of the media. Not all of your members will be expected to handle media interviews – but the need for all of them to be media aware has never been greater. Councillors now need to be more media savvy – not just in interviews-but also in every aspect of the work that they do and actions they take – weighing up their media impact. Your council's hard won reputation can be damaged overnight by a few "off the cuff" remarks to a local journalist. So whether it's understanding what makes a news story, meeting the local journalist, or facing the TV cameras in a crisis, Media Friendly can help. Flexible Training-to suit your MembersWe understand that finding the time for training can be a challenge, which is why we offer our training at a time that suits your Councillors – and we even come to you and run the training in your own premises. What could be easier! We offer a whole range of Media and Communication Training, though our Media Awareness Seminar is an ideal introduction to the media and perfect as part of a new member's induction programme.
It is designed to give a good overview of the workings of the media, show how to use the media proactively and will highlight any areas where further training would be beneficial. This is fun and entertaining, we include lots of video clips to illustrate our points, and encourage audience interaction and the help of willing volunteers. With so much training to fit in, our short seminar is perfect and flexible. We run as an evening session or during the day, in your own premises, and for any number of delegates.
