Have you ever wondered why some people always seem to get what they want or why you agree to do things when you really don't want to?

This highly interactive course offers you the chance to develop your assertiveness and improve your communication skills with peers, direct reports managers and in fact anyone you need to communicate with.

Using a mix of theory, assessment tools and group sessions, you will learn

  • The difference between assertive, aggressive and passive behaviours.
  • Your natural preference for assertive behaviour.
  • The impact of assertive behaviours on yourself and others.
  • Who you are most and least assertive with.
  • How to say no and still create win-win outcomes.
  • How to create and deliver assertive proposals
  • How to improve your natural assertiveness using both verbal and non verbal communication.
  • How to develop a personal plan to continue improving your assertiveness.

The course is structured around a highly engaging mix of theory, self assessment tools, group sessions and shared learning.

By the end of this one-day training participants will be able to:

  • Identify the behavioural types in yourself and others
  • Use assertive verbal and non verbal communication skills
  • Overcome objections in a constructive manner
  • Use the four step model of assertiveness
